CONWY BEER SERVED IN HOUSE OF COMMONS BAR
Local Brewers Conwy Brewery has one of its award winning bitters being served through the pumps of a House of Commons Bar.
The Member of Parliament for Aberconwy, Guto Bebb, welcomed a Conwy Brewery award winning beer ‘Rampart’ as this week’s guest ale in the Strangers’ Bar in Parliament.
As a member of the All Party Parliamentary Beer Group, Guto put forward the beer and was delighted that ‘Rampart’ was selected as a guest beer. He said:
“It is great to be able to support a local business and showcase a great local beer and to have ‘Rampart’ appearing as a guest beer in Parliament. Conwy Brewery is currently producing some award winning beers and it is great to be able to share a pint of beer from my constituency with parliamentary colleagues. ”
Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Beer Group, Andrew Griffiths MP said: “This is a fantastic beer! As Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Beer Group I am pleased to see beers from all parts of the UK being nominated and I warmly welcome this excellent beer from North Wales – it has proved a hit amongst MPs and visitors to the Strangers’ Bar.”
Conwy Brewery began brewing in 2003 and has quickly grown to be one of the most well known and respected brewers in North Wales. A wide variety of quality cask and bottle conditioned ales are brewed from mainstream brands to short-run speciality guest beers. Their beers have a strong Welsh identity with many beers having Welsh language badges and/or a strong local Welsh theme.
